Today I searched and searched for the answer to a problem I ran into. Thankfully it was isolated to a game and not the entire machine. The game in question is Plants Vs. Zombies. Yes, I’m a sucker for that game. I like simple games that don’t require a huge upgrade to a computer’s video card, or a drain in one’s finances. PvZ offers that. Plus mindless fun.
So like I’ve done for the past few weeks I was ready for another round of fun. Little did I know I would be facing a Fatal Error. With the words “changedir”. So like any smart person I searched online on Google opened many a site to find the answer to no avail. However, I am not a person whom is easily deterred from my goals. So after much searching I talked to the other side of my brain. By that I mean my former boyfriend. He and I seem to have this love of everything tech. I simply described the issue to him and within minutes he asked me to simply add a space after the target address and add the words “-changedir” minus the quotes. Looked simple enough, and wouldn’t you know it, it works like a charm.
So my question is, could Steam simply write that in their “Fatal Error” window? That could certainly solve a lot of issues and save time in searching online to get nowhere quick. Maybe is that these days I lack patience or maybe it’s that I just can’t stand things breaking because of an update I had no way of stopping from happening. Either way today I am happy to say, all is in good condition and working.
Hope it all continues that way, though for a few days now, I have had this feeling like someone is going to manage to surprise me and not in a good way. Well see, how that goes.
